Hon. Justice B.B. Kanyip Chairs NDIC Sensitization Seminar Session in Lagos

It was a privilege to participate in the 2026 Sensitization Seminar for Judges of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) and Members of the Investment & Securities Tribunal, hosted by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation in Lagos.
The session was chaired by Hon. Justice B.B. Kanyip, whose leadership and contributions to labour and employment jurisprudence continue to shape the Nigerian legal landscape.
During the seminar, I presented a paper titled “Adjudicating Labour Disputes Arising from Regulatory Actions.” The presentation examined the growing intersection between regulatory enforcement and labour relations, particularly how regulatory actions by government agencies and institutions can give rise to complex employment and industrial disputes requiring careful judicial consideration.
The seminar provided an important platform for robust engagement among members of the Bench, tribunal officials, regulators, and legal practitioners on evolving issues affecting labour adjudication and regulatory compliance in Nigeria.
I remain grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these important discussions and to engage with distinguished stakeholders committed to strengthening Nigeria’s legal and regulatory institutions.
